SWISS Review 2026: Business Class, Senator Lounge & Miles & More

By Marco Bellini 14 min read
Quick Answer

SWISS ranks #21 globally on FlightLogic at 8.4/10 — premium European full-service with an exceptional Zurich hub (8.7/10 airport, 9.0/10 Senator lounge). The business class product is solid, but the hub experience is the primary selling point over Lufthansa at Frankfurt.

Who should skip it

Verdicts mean naming who this is NOT for. From this review's own findings:

  • Smaller long-haul network than Lufthansa group parent
  • Miles & More dynamic award pricing

SWISS International Air Lines is Switzerland's flag carrier, a Lufthansa Group member operating from Zurich and Geneva with Star Alliance connectivity. For UK travellers, SWISS flies from London Heathrow, City, and Manchester with competitive business class against BA and Lufthansa on European and intercontinental routings.

Long-haul business class uses the Thompson V seat with direct aisle access on 777-300ER and A340 — comfortable though not cutting-edge versus Qsuite or Club Suite. SWISS excels in service culture: attentive without being intrusive, with strong Swiss catering on Europe-origin sectors.

Zurich Airport (8.7/10) and the SWISS Senator Lounge (9.0/10 review) are the core product advantage. Most Star Alliance connections through ZRH complete within 45–60 minutes airside — compare against Frankfurt (8.1/10) where terminal walks routinely exceed 20 minutes. Miles & More is the loyalty programme, shared with Lufthansa, Austrian, and Brussels Airlines.

UK261 applies to UK-departing SWISS flights. Pair with /reviews/swiss-senator-lounge-zurich-review and /airports/compare/frankfurt-vs-zurich for hub routing decisions.

Before you pack — pre-trip essentials

Flight and hotel links convert late. Finance, FX, insurance, and gear decisions happen weeks earlier — when professionals budget for long-haul stays. These picks fund FlightLogic without touching editorial scores.

Is SWISS a good airline?

Ranked #21 on FlightLogic (8.4/10). Wins on Zurich hub reliability (8.7/10 airport) and Senator lounge (9.0/10). Solid business class via Lufthansa Group.

SWISS or Lufthansa from the UK?

SWISS for tighter connections via Zurich (8.8/10 on-time). Lufthansa for broader network and First Class Terminal at Frankfurt.
